Grow Salon
- architecture
Grow Knoxville, a Shane Archer Concept salon, offers top-tier services for hair, skin, and body, establishing a high standard in both service and design.
The existing vanilla box was not your average retail space with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and limited natural light. The transformation posed challenges for the R2R studio designers, but also inspired innovative interior architectural solutions.

The salon’s layout strikes a harmonious balance between openness and privacy. This is achieved through the strategic addition of a mezzanine that not only optimizes the vertical space but also creates distinct areas for various services. Furthermore, ceiling-hung fabric panels have been incorporated to offer a sense of separation within the salon, allowing clients to enjoy their treatments in a tranquil atmosphere without feeling isolated from the activity that surrounds them.
In terms of aesthetics, a monochromatic color palette has been intentionally chosen to cultivate an inclusive and gender-neutral environment. Additionally, the installation of wood floors and various design details serves to enhance the existing tongue and groove ceiling, infusing warmth into the space.
Contrasting darker exposed structures and furniture with white walls and millwork creates a bright and inviting ambiance. Clear glass and white fabric light fixtures further enhance the sense of openness and brightness. Custom-designed millwork and floor plan layout allow Grow Knoxville to showcase premium products and deliver exceptional service, fulfilling all salon needs with style and sophistication.
