Inspired by ancient Indian beliefs, the design aims to achieve peace, progress, and prosperity through careful building, room, and furniture orientation.
project info
The rectangular building design wraps a central courtyard, optimizing the interior energy flow towards the North—the most auspicious direction for a South-facing home. The tallest section on the western side fosters positive energy, while the interior layout accommodates large gatherings while maintaining privacy in the western wing.
The placement of the courtyard and pool’s patio was strategically adjacent to the living room, creating seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity. With a prime seat for sunrise, the roof deck is an additional entertaining space and a nod to traditional Indian architecture.
Beyond the guidelines of Vastu Shastra, energy-efficient windows maximize natural light, complementing sustainability measures like water filtration, LED lighting, and an energy-efficient HVAC system.
A simple material palette serves as a backdrop for artwork, furniture, and cultural symbols, with interior materials chosen for durability, cleanliness, and functionality. By embracing Vastu Shastra principles alongside family values and well-being, this home becomes a sanctuary of peace and harmony.
